International Youth Sports Connection promotes cultural exchange and understanding between children of the U.S. and Africa using their passion for sports as the medium to relate. We believe this approach can knock down the barriers of language, race and religion and be a positive learning experience for all involved.
We offer the opportunity for youth sports teams in the U.S. to sign up to ‘partner’ with a similiar aged team from Africa. Once that initial contact is established, the monitor ( coach / parent ) of the U.S. participating team can continue team communication through whatever medium ( e-mail, blog, facebook, etc ) they would like. It is our hope that the teams from the U.S. will collect used or outgrown uniforms and sports equipment from their players to send to their ’sister’ team in Africa.
